Language Arts Guidelines Spelling Tests: All junior high students will be given a spelling test each Friday. (Students who have missed zero words on the spelling pretest earlier in the week are exempt from the Friday test.) Pretest schedule: Accelerated Reader Books: All junior high students are expected to have an AR book with them daily. Each student is working to achieve a certain amount of points each nine weeks. In order to reach this goal, students must be reading at home and at school during allotted times. ** Please make sure an AR book is coming home and being read each evening AR is part of your student's grade. PLEASE READ Extra Credit: The students have an opportunity to earn one extra credit point per day by correctly answering the research question of the day. New questions are posted daily on the board. General Information: Assignments and other general information are posted on Homework Hotline daily. Please do not hesitate to use this valuable source. 6th Grade Information: The sixth graders will be given a reading test every Thursday over their story of the week. Their reading textbooks should be coming home on Wednesday evenings so they can reread the story selection. Sixth graders will take an AR test every Friday over a leveled reader book they receive on Monday. Please make sure the leveled readers are coming home throughout the week. Sixth graders will earn three separate grades for this class. They include: -Spelling 7th and 8th Grade Information: The seventh and eighth graders will earn four separate grades for this class. They include: -Spelling Prayers Taught and Learned by 7th Grade MEMORIZED Prayers Introduced in 7th Grade
