PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL:
READING: The story for the week is called “JUST A DREAM by Chris VanAllsburg”. It is an AR story and the test will be taken following the class discussion. The class will also be reading and discussing other stories by Chris VanAllsburg and taking AR tests on those too.
Vocabulary- bulging, crumpled, foul, haze, shrieking, waddled
Leveled readers are: Green—JAMIE, THE JUNKYARD ARTIST(THURSDAY)
Red-DON’T THROW THAT PLASTIC BOTTLE AWAY(FRIDAY)
Blue-KEEP YOUR JUNK OUT OF OUR OCEAN(WEDNESDAY)
Spelling pretest will be on MONDAY over the following words:
The final test will be on FRIDAY!!
Look over theSpellingcity website. The students are able to play all the games that are available.
SPELLING WORDS are: blank, daring, claim, flour, crack, bridge, float, plank, classified, cradle, brand, among, flatter, clothesline, bridle, credit, Darling, flutter, clatter, cruise
CHALLENGE WORDS are: bulging, crumpled, haze, shrieking, waddled
The spelling list words are handed out on Friday and are stapled in the assignment notebook. If your child spells all 25 words correctly on Monday for the prestest then the student will not take the final test on Friday. Instead he/she will play an educational game on the I-pad during the final spelling test. At the end of the quarter all the students who scored 100% on their spelling pretests will get to pick from the candy jar.

*All students may bring home any work (not quizzes or tests) that is completed in the classroom for parents to check over. Parents, please talk this over with your child as to what you want you child to bring home and have you check over before I grade the papers.
**The IXL math computer website is going quite well. Expect your child to have 1 review assginment everyday on this website. The assignment is due the following morning, so the students have the entire day(free time) to work on this.
***Students write in their assignment notebook on a daily basis for any assignments that need to be completed. Keep in mind that I do not check over what the students write in their notebook. Let me know if you would like for me to take a peek at what they are writing in their notebook if this would help you at home get work finished on time.

*****I will be sending home a paper copy of my newsletter and I will have it updated on the website. I will also keep updated the assignments we worked on in the classroom and are due by the next school morning.
