Religion: Jesus shares with us the Greatest Commandment, Love God with all you heart. We talked about Jesus being in each one of us and what we think, do, or say we are doing to Jesus. Is that the what we want to do?
Language Arts: Our story was New Shoes for Silvia. We talked about being thankful for the gifts that we receive. We have been working on the /ar/ special vowel sound, and adding inflectional ending to verbs. Remember if it is a short vowel word with only one consonant following you must double the consonant before adding /ing/ or /ed/; if there is an /e/ at the end drop the /e/ before adding the ending. ex; skipping skipped, skating skated. There are so many rules to learn and practice in the English language.
Math: We are measuring with non-standard tool and rulers. The children have been moving about the classroom and measuring different items. One rule to remember is to always start at the edge of the tool and item that you are measuring; line them up carefully.
Science: Animals need food and shelter. They are able to move to find what they need to survive, unlike the plants that we talked about earlier. I have asked the children to work on a project at home, creating a habitat for an animal and write about it. I sent a paper home Friday to explain this to you, if you have any questions please ask. This project is due in school on Thursday April 30th.
