St. Michael Catholic School Celebrates Holy Week with Faith and Fellowship
This past week, St. Michael Catholic School joyfully entered into the sacred season of Holy Week, providing students and staff with meaningful opportunities to reflect on the true significance of Easter while building community through engaging activities.
One of the highlights of the week was a spirited, school-wide activity led by our dedicated support staff under the leadership of our maintenance director, Mr. Clayton. Teachers participated in a fun and competitive rock-paper-scissors tournament, going head-to-head in hopes of collecting the most necklaces. The friendly competition brought energy and laughter to the halls, while fostering camaraderie among staff. In the end, the kindergarten and fifth-grade teams emerged victorious, earning a special reward—an Easter egg hunt held on Thursday.
Throughout the week, each classroom took time to explore and honor different aspects of Holy Week. Students engaged in age-appropriate discussions, activities, and reflections centered on the events leading up to Easter. Many classes partnered with their buddy classrooms to complete crafts and shared projects, strengthening relationships across grade levels while deepening their understanding of the season.
In addition, students viewed meaningful videos that helped guide discussions about the true meaning of Easter—the sacrifice, love, and hope found in Christ’s resurrection. These moments of reflection allowed students to connect faith with daily life in a tangible and lasting way.

Durante la semana pasada, la Escuela Católica St. Michael celebró con alegría la sagrada Semana Santa, brindando a los estudiantes y al personal oportunidades significativas para reflexionar sobre el verdadero significado de la Pascua mientras fortalecían el sentido de comunidad a través de actividades dinámicas.
Uno de los momentos más destacados de la semana fue una actividad escolar organizada por nuestro dedicado personal de apoyo, bajo el liderazgo de nuestro encargado de mantenimiento, el Sr. Clayton. Los maestros participaron en un divertido y competitivo torneo de piedra, papel o tijera, enfrentándose entre sí para ganar la mayor cantidad de collares. Esta actividad llenó la escuela de energía y alegría, fomentando la convivencia entre el personal. Al final, los equipos de kindergarten y quinto grado resultaron ganadores, obteniendo como recompensa una búsqueda de huevos de Pascua el jueves.
A lo largo de la semana, cada salón dedicó tiempo a explorar y conmemorar diferentes momentos de la Semana Santa. Los estudiantes participaron en conversaciones, actividades y reflexiones apropiadas para su edad sobre los acontecimientos que conducen a la Pascua. Muchas clases trabajaron junto a sus “compañeros” de otros grados para realizar manualidades y proyectos compartidos, fortaleciendo las relaciones entre estudiantes de diferentes edades.
Además, los estudiantes vieron videos significativos que ayudaron a guiar discusiones sobre el verdadero significado de la Pascua: el sacrificio, el amor y la esperanza que se encuentran en la resurrección de Cristo. Estos momentos permitieron a los estudiantes conectar su fe con la vida diaria de una manera concreta y duradera.
La Escuela Católica St. Michael se enorgullece de ofrecer experiencias donde la formación en la fe y el espíritu comunitario se unen, haciendo de esta Semana Santa un tiempo memorable y significativo para todos.

Trong tuần qua, Trường Công Giáo St. Michael đã hân hoan bước vào Tuần Thánh, mang đến cho học sinh và nhân viên những cơ hội ý nghĩa để suy ngẫm về ý nghĩa đích thực của Lễ Phục Sinh, đồng thời xây dựng tinh thần cộng đồng qua các hoạt động bổ ích.
Một trong những điểm nổi bật của tuần là hoạt động toàn trường do đội ngũ nhân viên hỗ trợ tổ chức dưới sự dẫn dắt của nhân viên bảo trì, ông Clayton. Các giáo viên đã tham gia một trò chơi thi đấu “oẳn tù tì” đầy vui nhộn, đối đầu với nhau để giành được nhiều vòng cổ nhất. Hoạt động này đã mang lại bầu không khí sôi động và tiếng cười khắp trường, đồng thời tăng cường sự gắn kết giữa các nhân viên. Cuối cùng, đội kindergarten và lớp 5 đã chiến thắng và nhận được phần thưởng là một buổi săn trứng Phục Sinh vào ngày thứ Năm.
Trong suốt tuần, mỗi lớp học đều dành thời gian tìm hiểu và tưởng niệm các sự kiện khác nhau của Tuần Thánh. Học sinh tham gia các cuộc thảo luận, hoạt động và suy ngẫm phù hợp với lứa tuổi về những sự kiện dẫn đến Lễ Phục Sinh. Nhiều lớp còn kết hợp với lớp “bạn đồng hành” để thực hiện các sản phẩm thủ công và dự án chung, giúp tăng cường mối quan hệ giữa các khối lớp.
Bên cạnh đó, học sinh đã xem những video ý nghĩa nhằm giúp định hướng các cuộc thảo luận về ý nghĩa thực sự của Lễ Phục Sinh — sự hy sinh, tình yêu và niềm hy vọng qua sự phục sinh của Chúa Kitô. Những khoảnh khắc này giúp các em kết nối đức tin với cuộc sống hằng ngày một cách rõ ràng và sâu sắc.
