The 2026–2027 school year is officially underway, and what an exciting first week it has been at St. Michael School! We began with a wonderful Back to School Night, giving families the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and prepare for the year ahead. Our first day of school brought plenty of excitement as students reunited with friends and settled into their new routines—and even a tornado warning to remind us that school days can sometimes bring the unexpected! Despite the interruption, our teachers and students jumped right into learning. Classrooms have already begun their curriculum in science, reading, mathematics, and religion, setting the stage for a year of growth in both knowledge and faith.
Our Catholic identity has also been at the heart of our first week. Students began Adoration as part of our Faithful Fridays, providing time to slow down, pray, and spend time in the presence of Jesus. We also celebrated our first all-school Mass of the year, bringing our entire school community together in prayer and thanksgiving. Our buddy program is off to a wonderful start as well, with our 7th graders partnering with Kindergarten and our 8th graders partnering with 1st grade for their first activities. Finally, our school families came together for our first Family Activity of the year, giving students and families an opportunity to build friendships and strengthen our St. Michael community. We are so excited for all that God has in store for our students, families, and staff this year!
¡El año escolar 2026–2027 ya está oficialmente en marcha, y qué primera semana tan emocionante hemos tenido en St. Michael School! Comenzamos con una maravillosa Noche de Regreso a Clases, donde nuestras familias tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer a los maestros, visitar los salones y prepararse para el año que tenemos por delante. Nuestro primer día de clases estuvo lleno de emoción mientras los estudiantes se reencontraban con sus amigos y comenzaban sus nuevas rutinas, ¡e incluso tuvimos una alerta de tornado para recordarnos que los días escolares pueden traer algunas sorpresas inesperadas! A pesar de la interrupción, nuestros maestros y estudiantes comenzaron rápidamente con el aprendizaje. Los salones ya han comenzado con sus programas de ciencias, lectura, matemáticas y religión, preparando el camino para un año de crecimiento tanto en conocimientos como en la fe.
Nuestra identidad católica también ha estado en el corazón de esta primera semana. Los estudiantes comenzaron la Adoración como parte de nuestros Viernes Fieles (Faithful Fridays), teniendo la oportunidad de detenerse, orar y pasar un tiempo en la presencia de Jesús. También celebramos nuestra primera Misa de toda la escuela del año, reuniendo a toda nuestra comunidad escolar en oración y acción de gracias. Nuestro programa de compañeros (Buddy Program) también ha tenido un excelente comienzo, con nuestros estudiantes de 7.º grado formando pareja con los estudiantes de Kindergarten y nuestros estudiantes de 8.º grado con los de 1.º grado para realizar sus primeras actividades juntos. Finalmente, nuestras familias escolares se reunieron para nuestra primera Actividad Familiar del año, brindando a los estudiantes y a sus familias una oportunidad para crear amistades y fortalecer nuestra comunidad de St. Michael. ¡Estamos muy emocionados por todo lo que Dios tiene preparado para nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal este año!
Năm học 2026–2027 đã chính thức bắt đầu, và tuần học đầu tiên tại St. Michael School thật sự tràn đầy niềm vui và sự hào hứng! Chúng tôi bắt đầu với một buổi Tối Trở Lại Trường thật ý nghĩa, tạo cơ hội cho các gia đình gặp gỡ giáo viên, tham quan lớp học và chuẩn bị cho năm học mới. Ngày đầu tiên đến trường tràn ngập sự phấn khởi khi các em học sinh gặp lại bạn bè và làm quen với những nề nếp mới—và thậm chí còn có một cảnh báo lốc xoáy để nhắc chúng ta rằng những ngày học đôi khi cũng có những điều bất ngờ! Mặc dù có sự gián đoạn, các thầy cô và học sinh đã nhanh chóng trở lại với việc học. Các lớp đã bắt đầu chương trình học về khoa học, đọc hiểu, toán và tôn giáo, đặt nền tảng cho một năm phát triển cả về kiến thức lẫn đức tin.
Bản sắc Công giáo của chúng ta cũng là trọng tâm trong tuần đầu tiên này. Các em học sinh đã bắt đầu tham dự Chầu Thánh Thể trong khuôn khổ chương trình Faithful Fridays, tạo cơ hội để các em dừng lại, cầu nguyện và dành thời gian ở bên Chúa Giêsu trong sự hiện diện của Người. Chúng tôi cũng đã cùng nhau cử hành Thánh Lễ toàn trường đầu tiên trong năm học, quy tụ toàn thể cộng đồng nhà trường trong lời cầu nguyện và tạ ơn. Chương trình Bạn Đồng Hành (Buddy Program) cũng đã có một khởi đầu tuyệt vời, khi các học sinh lớp 7 kết đôi với các em Mẫu giáo và học sinh lớp 8 kết đôi với các em lớp 1 để thực hiện những hoạt động đầu tiên cùng nhau. Cuối cùng, các gia đình trong trường đã cùng nhau tham gia Hoạt Động Gia Đình đầu tiên của năm học, tạo cơ hội để các em học sinh và gia đình xây dựng tình bạn và củng cố cộng đồng St. Michael. Chúng tôi rất hào hứng chờ đón tất cả những điều tốt đẹp mà Thiên Chúa đã chuẩn bị cho học sinh, gia đình và toàn thể nhân viên của chúng ta trong năm học này!
